Oh yes, the smell of the dungeon ... Aieeee!!! During summer band going into my freshman year, we all got measured for the new uniforms, those spiffy white lounge-act-looking numbers we all looked so fabulous wearing... Before they arrived, however, for the first few games we had to wear the old ones, which were very dark maroon, always felt vaguely damp-ish, and had a smell clinging to them that was reminiscent of musty old prunes. For years afterwards, the dungeon still smelled of those very same uniforms, which some of us called the "prune-iforms." That's got to be the smell Kim's referring to.

Anyone know what happened to the old maroon uniforms? Did they end up worn by a Salvation Army band somewhere? Were they snapped up by some South or Central American dictator during a revolution in the 70s? Or, more ominously, could they be squirrelled away in a hidden bunker in Iraq, where weapons inspectors have yet to find them? Answers or ideas, anyone?
