Anybody had any experience with these folks?

http://www.alamocityband.org/

I saw them at the Flambeau Parade, and I'm thinking of joining. I'm going to try to go to a rehearsal next week and see what they're like.

I've thought about checking them out for a while too....just don't know if I'm still up for the marching....don't think I could do the Battle of Flowers parade one hand holding my horn, the other holding my "milk man" uniform pants up because the catch broke on em at 48, BUT it would be fun to play in a group like that again

Thanks for your message, Lyn! I will check it out. Everything got away from me the last few busy months, and I haven't even had a chance to practice the flute I borrowed. I'll mark my calendar for January 8.

Happy Holidays!

Robin

I have been a member since day one. I love playing and marching with them. Its nothing but fun. There are no tryouts for chairs so there is no pressure, you play what you can. Everyone is friendly and cheerful. They have plenty of events and you can even get your whole family involved. Hope to see you there, ask for Johnny "The Trumpet Player".
