I'm glad to see that there are many who keep alive the good ole days of ... so long ago. But something of the past is missing and I think we must take up an earnest search to once again locate that which has been lost. Please help if you can. Let's all band together once again to locate Randy's hair!

I understand your concern, Jim...but I'm not worried since Randy's humor, wit and creativity remain intact. Three out of four is pretty good.

Okay, so I don't have a fro any more. But I'm still a couple of years away from cue-ball status. http://members.cox.net/jim_hoffman/

Thats ok Jim....we always heard "Time Marches On", but I never realized it took a direct path over the top of me...although I still have a fair amount of my hair, I can't imagine being able to grow the mop I once had, besides, the hair that has gone from the head has migrated places I didn't know hair would grow..lol Of all the things from my youth I miss, I have to admit I wish I still had the physique of my younger years...Give me my 17 yo body back, and I'd gladly sacrifice my hair and stand shoulder to shoulder with Randy!

I gave up the drums and woodblock years ago. I never got past pretty good (if even that far). The only cadences I can still tap out are Mitch and Sidestreet. What was that one called that had a 2 against 3 beat and made everyone lose step?

The years have marched on. Most of my tale would put you to sleep. Suffice to say, I'm now happily married with two boys that sap every ounce of energy I have. We're in Virginia right now, which is about as far north as I can stand.

For the last 5 or so years I've worked for company call AMA (www.ama-inc.com). About half of that has been on NASA contracts and the other half for Capital One contracts.

For some odd reason, I just decided to Google on the Mighty Ram Band and I came across the site. Too cool.

I comPLETEly forgot about Mitch and Sidestreet...what a GREAT memory!!! Wish I could remember the jams!!
I think we renamed Sidestreet to Cobblestone Jam, didn't we, the one we made up while waiting to march in the Fiesta parade that year? Our famous cowbell funk that kicked EVERYones asses? I remember Duck, Goose, Downfall, Lewis, Eudell, then the 3 against 2 one was a little wierd one I used to do to mess yall up , but I forgot it... lol. those that we played in that order, but dont remember but ONE of the cadences, unfortunately. I do remember the one that started with the cowbell that got EVERYone funkin. GREAT times. and you were a badass on the timtoms, once we moved you up from woodblock.

ANOTHER Great moment in drum history: does anyone remember when we played SHAFT, and made that Dana dude (clarinet of course, since Diego wouldn't carry it) carry the HI HAT and march ONLY with that, just so Eudell could do the start of shaft? LOL When I moved to Baton Rouge my sr yr, we used our marching cymbals like that, and it was fun... but it was hilarious remembering the guy marching with the high hat set just so we could funk for Shaft.
