Congrats to them. One of the attorneys in my office, sent me an solicitation, asking for a contribution. In the message, Churchill is claiming to be the first band from San Antonio and South Texas to march in the Rose Bowl Parade. I responded with a pretty strong email message, with a link to this site, pointing out that the RAM BAND was there first. Some things never change.... Strange that the newspaper couldn't check its archives to see that it actually wasn't 35 yrs ago either.. The Churchill band directors and others were claiming to be the first to go until we reminded them we had been there and done that back on January 1, 1977. They politely apologized. It was nice to see San Antonio represented at the Rose Bowl parade. But the bottom line: it was Churchill... I would have been much happier seeing Marshall or any other NISD school representing SA. A few years ago, my realtor wanted to show us a house in an area within the Churchill boundaries. I nixed it...Instead, my son is a junior at Marshall. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
