The book about Patrick Henry is called A Son of Thunder written by Henry Mayer. The book was recommended by the gentleman who portrays Patrick Henry at Colonial Williamsburg. I really enjoyed the book. Patrick Henry did so much more than just say 'Give me liberty or give me death.' Another book that I really enjoyed is called Bunker Hill by Janet Tinney. The book is all about Dr. Jospeh Warren. I bought the book at Adams National Park so if you are interested in it you might want to check out the National Parks website at www.nps.gov

I know what you mean about reading first hand accounts. I have in my collection quite a few books like that. Also, I have found reading people's letters is very informative. I have a book that is a collection of Thomas Jefferson's letters which is very interesting, especially that letters between Thomas Jefferson and Abigial Adams during the time period when Jefferson and Adams did not see eye to eye.

What a great story about your Dad. I don't blame you for wanting to read more about that time in history.

Ok, I think I might need that cream pie in my face too.

Jean
