Date Posted: 17:30:20 01/18/06 Wed In reply to: Ailsa Man 's message, "Re: Former 'Camms' Fleetlines" on 13:38:13 01/18/06 Wed I believe the competitors were Camms of Nottingham and one called Midland Fox? (They ran free breadvan services to Mackworth estate from what I know). Derby City Transport eventually took over all bus operations however many routes either ceased to exist or in the case of Allestree, Mickleover and Spondon they became Trent routes. I certainly recall the 60 and 61 routes serving pretty much the same areas of Chellaston, I think one went around Jubilee Road at Shelton Lock and then up Boulton Lane towards Alvaston. The Ex Birmingham PTE Fleetlines were the "Darts" of the Chellaston routes in the 80s and early 90s, DCT ran Northern Counties Fleetlines and Volvo Ailsas before turning to Scania single deckers (both the Alexander E reg and East Lancs N reg were used until the arrival of the Darts). The 35 route has since returned however is city council funded for a year and is operated by Notts and Derby, it serves the Haven Baulk Lane area of Littleover and links with the City Hospital.
