Well it's important to consider that I had to play a stereotyped "submissive" role as a stereotyped
"dominant/majority" person. I would say the biggest problem arose not in somehow playing my role as a white male, because I was masked and felt no identity, both with my self and hopefully with the audience, but the performance was more problematic in portraying an Asian male. The male part I had done, ha ha, but I didn't want to lend myself to criticism by portraying an Asian male as weak/submissive so as to only reinforce the stereotype which was being discussed and argued about in the play and also in our class. I guess I was a bit afraid of acting out the part in a degrading manner, but at the same time I found it challenging to subvert my assumed "aggressiveness" as a white male. As it was said, Caroline played an important role of assessing whether Bernice was believable as a White female and whether I was believable as an Asian male. I hope it turned out to be both a credible performance and one which brought to light, as was said, many ideas concerning stereotypes of races and creeds.
