I wanted to say that I agree with your assesment of the play, Azuka, in that one could not really pinpoint who had the true power in the play when it came to the roles played by Jason and Bernice within the walls of the parlor, but one question that came to my mind was does the true control of power really have to do with money? By this I mean, Jason (his character) paid for the S&M and so in some sense that gives him the power because he pays to try and win the game against Bernice's character, and Bernice receives money to beat Jason at this game. So perhaps the question I'm asking (directed to the general audience)is that is Jason in power the entire time because he pays for the abuse and is Bernice perhaps trying to gain the power and control by beating him because she doesn't have any in some sense. Is the game really just confined to the walls of the parlor, for these two or any two individuals for that matter, and if not how does this play out in society verses the brutal truth that is played out in the parlor?
