 I have a pattern of hiding. If nobody can see me then I feel safe. It has been the hugest challenge of my life to find ways to get in the room with this aspect of myself.

During my first Waking Down Weekend I spent much of my small group time under a blanket. I was so good at the art of hiding that when someone walked through the room and Ted remarked to them, "Have you seen Cassie?" they had no idea that I was even there.

Another time when we were going around a circle I hid behind someone's chair before my turn. OF COURSE everyone could see me there, but that was the point. I WANTED to be seen. Getting in the room hiding. Groan.

Another time after a particularly challenging exchange between Saniel and someone else, I found myself shouting at the top of my voice range: "I am NOT in this room. There is a line right here in front of me and NOBODY better cross it!"

It seems as though I have done something on this order over and over. OF COURSE I would have to do it here on this forum too. So here I am, a hider trying to show up.
