Thinking about this leads me to seeing something else behind the need to be special...the need for Attention...that most valuable commodity in the world. Why else would we want to be special?

And on a forum such as this, the attention we receive CAN operate as a subtle reinforcement of the unconscious ways we make ourselves special. We can work this piece in two ways however. We can use that attention to puff our self-image up or we can use it to expose it to the incredible healing factor of consciousness in mutuality.

This is cutting awfully close to my bones. I know how much I crave attention. I see how, when I've posted something, I keep checking for responses to it...AND I want to hold all of us gently here...this need for attention...is a need for life itself...babies who do not get it, die. Besides reinforcing unconscious habits, it also can free us from them.

I bless all of us as we explore these most vulnerable exposed places. It's so hard and yet so valuable to be real. And watch out for making yourself special by being the most real person here. Oops I think I caught myself. Will this never end?
