There is an African culture where the standard greeting translates as "I see you." That feels so deep and powerful to me. I love it that while I was busy reassuring Ellen that there is indeed a point to everything, the rest of you are delighting in hearing and noticing that there is NOT, and need not be. Wow. Here again we have that simultaneity and paradox that is at the heart of this work. I confess that while I love including the zen-like greetings of cats and rocks and vegetables in our conversation, I would feel terribly trapped if I were limited to that! Feeling "pointless" to me translates as feeling valueless, that is, not valued or valuable, and that was what I was responding to. Because for me, even the utter silence and profound uselessness of an unremarkable rock is exquisitely and excruciatingly valuable! And the complexities of a human person are founded upon that rock, with value built upon value. So nowhere do I find pointlessness. Goal-lessness, maybe. Thanks, Ellen, for bringing this place to our attention. What fun!*****love*******Kyla
