Subject: If I stop Author: Cassie [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 00:10:51 05/22/01 Tue If I stop...if I stop all activity, including the activity of my mind...then I can be here for this moment...this round, full, momentous moment when we are alive wherever we are not running. Mostly life, my life anyway, has been about running. About making sense of things, about keeping busy, about preoccupation, about escaping, about hiding. Hardly ever has it been about this moment and all that it contains. It contains so much. Everything really. There is no other moment ever, so this one has to contain it all. And it does, ever so nicely. Not that it’s always “nice” to be here in this moment. It’s really full of all kinds of things, body sensations of terror, intimations of infinity, death, longing, loneliness...all manner of things. And they flow in and out and about like a stream weathering the crack it has made in the mountainside. Weathering my heart, eroding my sense of who I am, deepening my being here. Thank god.
