I think he actually has a pretty good point. Hp is certainly more centeralized around witchcraft but tolkien has magic in it to. ALmost everyone i see who protests harry potter has nothing against lotr. How they show magic being used in hp movie has about has much revelance as as in lotr. All it is , is some one pointing a wand and saying some werids as opposed to gandalf using his staff and saying something. It is like everyone looks at the magic used in tolkien different because it is not refered to as witchcraft. Maigc is nothing new in fairytales or movies and no one has really objected to it before. Yet it seems like a small majority is up in arms just because hp uses the term witchcraft which carries slightly more negative connotation then wizardy or magic. Frankly i am glad the harry potter books and suchp prgorams are charmed paint a brighter view of witchcraft in today's society. It is certainly much better than the negative bs imaged presnted by most hollywood slasher type films. However, it does not paint a realstic view of witchcraft in my opinion. Rememeber that most of the little kids who become interested in witchcraft of hp will most likely soon lose interest when they learn that magick is not achieved by just shouting off a few words. Fads die out over time
