Jake is a good name. I'm still calling mine Littlecat. I am also occasionally calling him "Scout" or "Weasel-ball". Somehow weasel-ball is fitting.

When he really gets into kitten-crackhead mode, he tears around the apartment, just running laps or jumping on and off furniture. A lot of this running is that weasel/ferret style with his back arched up and bouncing gait. Hence the name, Weasel-ball.

I can sympathize with Paul on the pants thing. I have scratches all up and down my legs from the kitten trying (and succeeding) to climb me. He is especially prone to this behavior when I am preparing his food. I stand at the counter, put the food in his dish and Kitty's, then clean up a bit. When it's time to actually give them the food, Kitty runs to his placemat (making noise the whole time--a sound like Marge Simpson's groan of disapproval), and the Littlecat does the weasel-run to the bathroom, where he is fed.

How big is Jake? Not that large if he's dangling from pants legs, huh? Kitty weighed 15 pounds at his last vet check--he's now on a diet, and will weigh in again next week. Littlecat weighed 1 pound, 8 ounces when I brought him home. He's gained about 5 or 6 ounces since then. I thought about it the other night, my little 1.5 pound kitten, and realized that I weigh about as much as 120 kittens. Give yourself a minute to get the visual. :)

That's enough static electricity to jump start a car on a cold morning.
