Haven't read these before. What are they about? The title sounds interesting. Hope you're able to find them. Nothing new today here except we're supposed to get a blizzard with heavy snow on Sunday. Oh yay! Here it comes. Maybe if I put the snowblower on the front lawn showing we're prepared and Mother Nature sees it maybe Murphy's Law will kick in and the snow won't come...haha (NT) -- Lori, 11:01:03 11/21/03 Fri
Hey! I like the snowblower/murphy's law thing!! Maybe I'll get out our shovle, give it to my DH and have him stand outside!! hehehehehe Do you think that'll work?? *VBG* As to the books, never heard of them. I am reading a rather interesting one myself, though; "The Devil in the Shape of a Woman." It's a factual in-depth look at women and the colonial witch hunts. Just chock full of info!! Okay, light enough I guess - an update on my caffeine contest. I now have coffee only when I am out at a restaurant, and even then I sometimes drink just water. Thus it is correct to say that I have a caffeine intake no more than once a day, and usually none at all. I found Postum and it substitutes nicely for coffee at breakfast and lunch when at home. I use peppermint herbal tea for dinner and Sleepytime herbal tea before retiring for the night. I just had some Lemon herbal tea and I found I'll have to avoid letting it steep too long as it was rather strong. How well do I sleep now? There seems to be an improvement this week after about two weeks of reducing the caffeine to very small amounts. Tuesday night I had 6 1/2 hours straight through and last night about 5. Oh, and I eat no chocolate now. Thanks again for everyone's advice two weeks ago. (NT) -- Ron, 15:41:09 11/20/03 Thu

Hi, Martina! I'll contribute some meaningless chatter. I told my doctor yesterday that I was waking up in the middle of the night, so she asked me how much coffee, how much tea I drank in a day. Then came the clincher. Do you ever eat chocolate? Yes to all the above, and too much caffeine is waking me up. I have been using decaf coffee for three years, but even a little caffeine can do the evil job. So, I have decided to cut the caffeine intake in half. What is a hot drink a person can take that has no caffeine? I tried chicken soup yesterday, but once a day is enough! (NT) -- Ron, 09:56:49 11/04/03 Tue

Antje, I'll pass on the Carokaffe for now. I don't want to trouble you. I may find some here. I do have some herbal tea here which I haven't tried for years. I hope it will be all right. I will try some of that in a few minutes. Being a man and living alone, for laziness, I prefer to simply heat water and pour it over something to make a hot drink. When I have company I make coffee with a drip perculator, and I always make tea in a tea pot. So, I probably won't use the milk and honey because it'll mean another pan to wash! Lazy? You bet! Thanks for all the advice, ladies. At least we have something new on the Board since Hallowe'en! (NT) -- Ron, 17:25:45 11/04/03 Tue
Gee, I forgot I could zap anything in the microwave! I'll look for herbal chai tea tomorrow. Another question, though - does mint tea or herbal teas have caffeine? If they do, that would defeat the purpose. The microwave use means I can easily do milk and honey! Thanks again! (NT) -- Ron (knocking himself on the head!), 02:12:24 11/05/03 Wed
Betsy, that's one of the five in the packet I bought! I'm looking forward to taking a mug of it before going to bed tonight. It's hard to stop trying these out! That will make three of the five I tried today. The second was the Peppermint which I had during dinner. I liked it very much, gave it an "A". (NT) -- Ron, 22:31:16 11/05/03 Wed
