Subject: Lynne, Mack has had 2 of those surgeries

The first advice I would give is to join the Orthodogs Yahoo message board. It's a fantastic wealth of information from dozens of people going through exactly what you are. Lot's of good advice and support.
Keeping her quiet......you can try now or you can try after surgery. If she has TPLO or the other 'old fashioned' op - she will have to be kept very quiet and confined for 6-8 weeks or it's a waste of time and money.
As she's walking around and re-injuring it at this point she is quickly developing arthritis - it's the bodies way of trying to stabilize the joint.
It's an expensive, painful and nerve-wracking experience.
Also....have you been told by the vet it's very likely she'll blow the other knee? It's very common.
Is she on pain relievers (like Rimadyl or Deramaxx)......? They truly work but they also keep the dog from resting herself and make it more likely she keeps injuring it.
My thoughts are with you...these dogs are too darned much fun even for themselves!
