*blinks* Uh... we're not discussing the strategy for dumping radioactive waste here. It's hardly essential that we all reach a conclusion on particular issues, is it?

It's a discussion board. The fun's in the discussing, not in reaching a firm, objective Does Mary Sue Suck Or Not? post which we must all agree with. We're always going to disagree with smaller points of a particular debate, even if we agree on the larger stuff. It does not pain me to my very soul that such discussions just drift off into the ether without everyone agreeing to a particularly-worded resolution.

It's fun. That _is_ the point - people enjoy doing it. If we didn't enjoy such things, we'd long since have passed a 'Badfic sucks!' resolution and gone away again.
