Subject: The Season 5 premiere of Angel was on last night here and I need to vent...

Okay, so I did know that Spike would be resurrected and become a regular on the show but why oh why did they include him in the starting credits *before* he even appeared in the episode? I mean, if I hadn't known about him appearing at the end of the first ep, his credits shots would've totally spoiled me. What were they thinking?! I pity those ppl who did watch the episode not knowing Spike was gonna appear at the end. Something I can't blame Joss for is the fact our stupid channel 7 which screens Angel here even showed in the *previews* for the episode Spike reforming! I mean - ergh! Damn fools.

Everything else about the premiere tho, I enjoyed. From the throwback to the very beginning of 'City of' with Angel rescuing some helpless blonde in an alley to Spike's resurrection - 'twas all good. But then, Joss wrote and directed it so of course it was gonna be good (tho there are some exceptions to the every-ep-joss-writes-and-directs-is-good rule *coughrestlesscoughthegiftcough*).

I especially liked the automated Ritual Sacrifice phone service.

Angel:"Uh, could I get a cup of coffee or something?"
Phone:"You have reached Ritual Sacrifice! For goats, press "1" or say "goats"."

(if only qc had been watching;)

and then

Phone:"To sacrifice a loved one or pet, press the "pound" key."

LMAO

And here's something that will verywell shock you: I didn't hate Harmony in this episode! When I'd heard she was gonna be back in the show I was like, "Bloody hell, they finally killed off the character I hate most on BTVS (anya) and just as they've finished that show they're gonna taint ATS with harmony! Why God Why?!" but low and behold she didn't really annoy me (and that's quite amazing considering I once said she was the second character I hated the most after anya). She was definitely far less annoying than she'd been in either BTVS or that one Angel ep in S2 called 'Disharmony'. Here's hoping she stays that way. For the one or possibly even two ppl who may read this, I have to ask what do you think of Harmony taking Cordy's place (I mean, I imagine that's what they brought her back for. Slowly intergrate her into the group then eventually she'll become the new second female reg to join Fred in the credits).

Also, one last thing, if you've seen the hundredth episode, I only want to know one thing: Did they do an extended flashback to the very first ep of Angel and show a clip from every ep leading up to the hundredth like they did at the start of 'The Gift' on BTVS?

*goes off and attempts to stay unspoiled for the rest of the season* (really)
