Subject: So the player involved gets a yellow, and the supporter gets 5 years. Next up a new ruling, player gets straight red for inciting the crowd and the club gets a 10 point deduction on two counts…1).inadequate stewardship facilitating fans to access or invade the pitch and 2) failure to control the behaviour player/s. Oh the joy of supporters and players being conditioned to avoid unnecessary enthusiasm and exhibiting over zealous celebrations. Message to us all, just get those clappers clapping.
In reply to: Same Old Story 's message, "Yes thats exactly it - which i believe is in mid december. Once that's happened i understand he'll be looking at his options. But there was clearly no mal-intent (as can be evidenced by the players reactions to him), so 5 years just seems ludicrous to me - and i'd hold that viewpoint whether i knew the individual or not." on Wednesday, November 20, 02:40:33pm

  • It's a harsh reaction from the club, but I'm wondering if they are trying to look tough in order to appease the authorities etc, whilst also putting all the responsibility on to the individual offender. The great majority of us know not to enter the pitch, no matter what the emotion of a situation. Obviously this guy's emotion bypassed his reason. • "The great majority of us know not to enter the pitch." Do we? Tell that to the hundreds (thousands?) who ran on the pitch (twice!) at the end of the last Championship promotion season... (NT) -- G, Wednesday, November 20, 05:46:45pm (NoHost/90.213.242.75)
