Subject: John Collins was my greatest disappointment post-promotion. Hoped he'd continue to excel at that level, but he was quite nondescript. Plus of course the Marlet situation.
In reply to: Same Old Story 's message, "There aren't many versions of us in the premier league who have underachieved, but the Tigana team absolutely did. Much of that was down to balance - for instance our defence was fine for the most part, but we had to rely on Andy Melville - a top pro, but not a centreback you wanted playing every game if you were going to get into the top 8. Same with midfileld , and crucially, we didn't have a forward to really take the pressure off Saha in those early PL days." on Thursday, December 19, 12:26:13pm

  • I can remember a damp Sunday afternoon in October 2001 at the ‘funerial’ Villa Park when Fulham, with all our favourites, did not muster a shot, until well into the second half. Villa were also poor but did manage a couple of goals after the break. At full time a few Fulham players came to applaud the Fulham fans and ‘Leggi’ actually made an apologetic gesture to us because he knew full well that so many of the team had underperformed and gave us nothing whatsoever to cheer about!
