Subject: Ipswich, Soton and Wolves all played in away kits, there was no clash with our home hit. They all were pink or purple and pink, was this a reason for poor performance?
In reply to: Wolfie Smith 's message, "A thread the other day about Ipswich wearing their away kit for no reason got me thinking about kits. Was trying to think of the times we have worn our change kit at home in a competitive game (it's happened a few times for friendlies). We did it an evening Premier league match at Loftus road in a 2-3 loss to Newcastle in Oct 2003, and it was way before my time but remember seeing a colour picture of us at home to west brom in the late 60's when we wore all blue! Any other occasions?" on Monday, January 06, 09:58:20pm

  • The light blue shirts against Arsenal were for the 125th anniversary. Reflecting the very early days when we wore light blue & dark blue halves in honour of our founders who went to Oxford and Cambridge. I'm not sure we wore it again after that match.
