My contempt for Arteta has reached a new low, were that possible. Arsenal’s defeat to Newcastle last night is down to the ball being used in the competition. That the ball has been used in the previous rounds - which Arsenal won - seems to have escaped his memory. His behaviour in getting Gera sent off still rankles ie writhing around in the kind of display that would get you jeered to ridicule in any playground, before subsequently charging around like a six year old on speed. It may well be apocryphal that Ferguson blamed a defeat on the size of FFC’s changing rooms, but Arteta now gets the Oscar for Most Pitiful Excuse for Losing
