Subject: Did he blame the ball? He was asked to comment on the ball being different from PL ball. He did, saying it has different charactistic. I didn't hear him say the ball was to blame for his team missing the chances.

  • That’s the problem with the Press. Arteta is asked a question about the ball, he responds innocently that it acts differently to the league ball and all of a sudden it’s misinterpreted that he is blaming the ball. Look at Pereira, has an interview and it’s interpreted differently to what he actually meant. Open your mouth and the Press will make a story out of anything. • Yes - it seems Pereira was stitched up although the quotes may have been provided by his agent. (NT) -- Rupert, Wednesday, January 08, 10:08:52am (NoHost/90.193.226.124)
  • I agree, to an extent, most managers would have a bit of nouse and understand it will be clipped and interpreted as an excuse, but then people moan about boring football (and political) interviews and this is why, it’s so easy to get stitched up that it’d safer to just say not a lot in a roundabout way. Saying that, can’t stand arteta and his history of never acknowledging Arsenal ever deserve to lose means he has bit of a rep.
