Subject: Silva appears to have built an incredible bond with his players , nurturing them and raising their levels to maximum . I’d like to think the Khans view him as not just a good Manager but something more special and despite the temptations of bigger clubs , they will give him what he deems necessary to elevate us to levels not reached before .
In reply to: Henry1879 's message, "So if he wants to spend £500m you say ok; whatever you say Marco. People have such a strange take on football club structure, managers are an employee who look after the first team, they aren’t some god like whatever they say goes. Look how Pompey turned out when directors didn’t say no and opened up the cheque book without thought for long term consequence. Maybe silva doesn’t want a long term contract and like pep at city the club and him are happy with short term deals." on Sunday, January 19, 06:01:40pm

  • Now that is bloody silly and surprisingly juvenile of you. You're taking it literally when you well know the crux of the message. Do they appreciate him enough of affordability. Really surprised £500m ffs! Who do you think you are responding to mate. (NT) -- CB, Sunday, January 19, 06:24:40pm (213-18-164-61.customer.gigaclear.net/213.18.164.61)
  • Meant to read 500m on players. My point is there is a balance to be found, keep a manager happy and ensure the club is progressing along with things like FFP, balancing of books due to money spent on a stand (already stated thas the direction). Silva is happy as far as we know, the club are happy and want him to stay, but where the manager want to go and what is sensible long term for the club aren’t always the same unfortunately, as fans we always think spend more, but there is a balance.
