Some comments on why Wolves away is not sold out yet.
I’d say a major factor is lack of loyalty points or the pointlessness of them.
In the past you’d expect 5 or 6 points for a midweek cat C game.
That could be the difference between getting first pick to an end of season game. The recent lack of acknowledgment to the higher points fans has been an incredible snub. It can’t be more than a few hundred that have 1200+ points atm but they are the ones who will fill the seats at non big club midweek long haul aways.
England internationals at Wembley against teams like Moldova or Liechtenstein might not have been that attractive but fans who went to such games were rewarded with enough points to secure Euro finals tickets.
Getting tickets to important games shouldn’t be about who has the fastest internet connection.

But 2000 went to League 2 Wigan to watch our squad fillers. I know it was on a Saturday, but is further away Wigan playing in a modern identikit stadium, really more attractive? - As much as the atmosphere at CC picked up last Sat, for me it compares little to that at most away games . I believe this plus the decent allocation was a factor behind persuading many to go to Wigan ( not forgetting 3pm Sat). However a midweek fixture at Molyneux with likelihood of no more than 1,000 , I suggest doesn’t stir the need for many : myself included as would’ve stayed over and hence added to the.expense .   - I get the bit about the expense of staying over for you personally, but with Newcastle playing Forest on Saturday, a win against Palace could see us rising to 7th and to be within a few points of 4th place, depending on how other results go at the weekend.   - For me the allocation and its ‘take up’ rate goes a long way to deciding the atmosphere . Putting away fans high and far away from pitchside means less chance of an in-game connection with the Team.
