Subject: TIFF Is a pretty rare and special place in that regard. There are idiots, of course, and people whose views I don't agree with. But that doesn't make it not worth taking the rough with the smooth. And noticeably there's been a lot fewer of the old "I'm done with this board" posts in the last couple years. It's going well.

  • The ability to chip in at a precise point of detail in a thread (without needing to quote before replying) particularly appeals -- and is unique to TIFF. This sometimes makes for exceptionally fine discussions. All human life is represented of course, and some of it you would shun in real life. But still, something to be said for exposure to behaviours, mental states and credulities that you'd not encounter otherwise.
