Excellent write up. At times this season our deficits come across as more psychological than tactical. Its odd. First season up we played with such fire and we rarely fail to bring it against the big clubs. Would add that the game showed yet again our fallibility from set pieces (throws and corners today) and was a bit of a microcosm of what I wrote about Leno below. Pity the seasons over like this. - What's interesting here is that it mirrors management in general, not just football. Certain military and corporate structures have up-or-out policies in part as a recognition that management stagnates. There's something about the interplay with old and new management structures that create a dynamic that's hard to keep up over long periods. In football some like Ferguson have bucked the trend by bringing in and delegating to innovative assistants. But otherwise it's hard to keep momentum.
