Subject: 34 penalties taken and probably at least 28 that no keeper would have saved. Liked the way nearly all players put their foot through the ball without the normal fannying about.

  • BBC stats suggest we did enough to have won in normal time, the difference being that our movement in the box was poor and they were prepared to throw bodies in front of the ball perhaps as you'd expect from a team who were playing a one-off game against an EPL side and aiming to boost their confidence for a tough season in the Championship. Agree entirely about Stansfield who is now getting regular first team football which he wouldn't have done with us. Gutted to be out of the Cup.
