Shouldn’t have reacted how he did v forest, especially as he’d picked up a knock, but he didn’t take it v villa because he had a strop, it’s because he’s the assigned taker, Silva/coaches will assign the role, so question their judgement. He was poor though, but he takes a lot of risks with the ball, hence his stats, but invariably means he’ll have the odd shocker as rarely plays safe, he never hides though and I’d rather that than an anonymous ESR type performance. -- SW6.doc

In that circumstance he needed to score that penalty, no ifs nor buts. And when he missed he at minimum needed to put in a professional and quality display, which he did not; he fell to pieces and gave probably his worst ever display with the ball. Agree the manager takes some responsibility here. But sometimes managers make sub-optimal decisions trying to keep a squeaky wheel happy. Ultimately, yes, that is on the manager not standing up to the unhappy person. But it's also on the squeaky wheel who needs to prove himself. Andreas was clearly nervous taking that penalty & those nerves were almost certainly increased because of his immature outburst. Act a fool, take the consequences.
