Cowardly? Hey, hey, hey! As easily as he had chosen his side in a fight not his own, he could just as easily drop his allegiance. Self-preservation, you know? And stepping out of his shadows in no way stood to benefit him, in anyway other than an interesting time.
And suddenly, with a blade swinging in his direction, things were perhaps a little too interesting! And thank his brilliant luck that somehow the combination of his own startled jump, the push of a body into his arms, and the momentum of Zeth's shove delivered him to one side and a bit of mad scrambling, Bri in arms, brought the younger vampire at least out of the immediate circle of danger. Not that there was anywhere safe. But somewhere safe was where he was supposed to take the unconscious female. Though if being forcefully told to fuck off was to be the thanks he got, perhaps he ought to simply toss the femme off the fire escape and dash off to trail the long-gone redhead. Ha! But no, not only was that horrible, but his attention was snared by the rising conflict and he clutched Bri close to his chest as he clung to the outskirts of the stand-off. Not particularly attracted by the prospect of slipping back Sabra again but gawking in the background was not fulfilling his accepted duty. Just wait for the opportune moment.
(bleh, sorry, been called away from this post on again and off again for the last hour and a half, lost my train of thought and need to re-read a few preceeding posts to regain my sense of the space they're in. But this will do for now. Glad you're back, Loo! Someone needed to save my neck!)
