Subject: Snapping Out of It Part I - Isobel comes to her senses
In reply to: Corum & Erlic 's message, "Was it worth it?" on 20:25:52 04/23/02 Tue

For some reason the entire short voyage out to the island and subsequent discovery of the ruby and then the ensuing fight with the panther and lion statues was simply a strange hazy blur. Isobel frowned. Could she have possibly hit her head while tumbling down the stairs and not realized it? She felt her cranium, running her fingers through her hair and over her scalp in search of a telltale lump. Sure enough... right in the back of her head was a huge, painful goosegg. She winced.

She hoped she hadn't endangered anyone in her dazed state, but saw that everything appeared to be fine... except Ravin was holding his hand a little oddly. "Ravin! Are you all right?" she said with concern, rushing over. She peered down at his hand and turned dark eyes up to his.

"I am so sorry Ravin... I do not know what was wrong with me. I appear to have been dazed or something by my fall down the stairs," she whispered, loath to admit any weakness to anyone else. "I am certain that I will be fine, however."

She thought she could still see some movement in the gem and hoped no one touched it again. She shuddered slightly at the thought of what could happen with such an object. "Muy mal," she said softly.

She realized with a start that Ravin could have lost his hand in this incident, and gently took it between her palms. She raised his bandaged hand to her lips and kissed it softly. "Mi corazon..." she whispered, placing his hand over the spot where he had traced his name with the feather.
