Subject: Snapping Out of It Part II - Jaded
In reply to: Corum & Erlic 's message, "Was it worth it?" on 20:25:52 04/23/02 Tue

Jade was wrapped in some close-fitting material, floating on a slow-moving river. She could smell the water and the soft scent of cherry blossoms, feel the wet spray on her face. For a while she simply drifted lazily there, breathing in the cool misty air and enjoying the softly undulating movement of the raft she lay upon. After a while she became aware of the fact that she couldn't open her eyes. She tried to call out but couldn't, nor could she move her arms or legs. They must have thought she was dead and set her adrift on the river. She felt water seeping into her throat and instead of fighting the inevitable she embraced it.

She could feel something gently caressing her face now... soft leaves swaying as she drifted by beneath them. It was very peaceful and she knew she was ready to move on. In this case, however, moving on apparently didn't mean crossing over to the other side, but returning to this one and her eyelids fluttered open. She smiled as she was greeted by the sight of Erlic's handsome face peering down at her. "Hello, darling. I take it I'm not dead yet," she said, smiling as she reached a hand up to touch his cheek.
