is busy. Classes started this past week again and I am on the go. There is a possible full time position available and I am not so sure I want to give up my time at home.
My daughter is in a talent show in a few weeks and of course we are excited.
Here is a question:
Do you think our kids have more opportunities than we had at their ages?
I think so. The other day, I was discussing Lauderhill Middle School to a friend. It was an open concept school. To me, it was a very difficult place to learn, as there was so much noise and distraction. Someone told me later they finally put in walls between classes.
If I had gone to a more traditional Middle School, I think my math skills would have been better. As it was, my high school math class was with the "burn outs" in remedial algebra..LOL Science was with Coach Sundy and that also was a joke.
Now that is a memory!! Did we actually make moonshine in there?

Just wondering... while Bush has put all these people on the terrorist list what do you all think about addng drug smugglers and sellers to the list. Drugs have terrorized our society: broken up homes, killed our youth, kept the impovershed in poverty and on the margins of society. How many preopled have been violently killed by those on drugs or in the drug lifestyle and many of those killed have been innocent bystanders. And what about gang members? I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving. I will start my baking after work tomorrow. I am in charge of the pies. This year my mother wants me to make the apple pie from the Good Morning America Show she saw last week. Plus I will be making a sweet potato pie. I am most thankful that my mother is well enough to really participate in preparing the dinner this year. She had a tough time over the summer. She was in and out of the Hospital and Doctors offices all summer. It was really hard for her because this was the first time she has ever been ill. But now she is getting better. Now we are having a hard time trying to get her to take it easy!

As of June 26 I have a little boy, Samuel Robert. I was supposed to be induced Wed, June 27 at 6:00 pm because he was over a week late but he had different plans. 4:00 in the morning I started getting contractions about 15 min apart. Then at 5 am it went to 5min contractions. On the car trip over it went to even less than that. I had never experienced the pain that a contraction gives you so after 3 hours of suffering I okayed a drug that would take the edge off. It didn't so by noontime I was getting the epidural and I felt great. I could administer the dosages myself. I could see the contractions on the monitor but didn't feel one of them. By 5pm I was told to start pushing. I asked if I could still give myself the epidural and they said if I could push with it, which I was able to. The Dr had a vacumn set up to help pull Sam out but it really only worked minimally, I did all the work. I had an episiotomy but the repair was harder than imagined. I had a bleeder from a previous operation and the doctor had to undue my stitches because the bleeder wouldn't stitch up. I'm still recovering from this. In fact two days ago the nurse at the pediatritions office said I looked pale and awful and made an appointment for me to go right over to my ob/gyn. The hospital never gave me my instructions for iron supplements! I was anemic, the doctor was a little pissed about my not getting that order. Anyway I am now on pain killers, motrin, iron suppplements, antibiotics and other vitamins and such. I finally am feeling a little stronger. The baby weighed in at 7lbs, 10 oz and 21 inches long. He's very alert which makes my sleeping less than normal, plus I'm breast feeding. Anyone out there breastfed their children? It's a wonderful thing. Well, the "master" has fallen asleep and I will try to get some zzz's also. Take care.

Where did the summer go? I can't believe it is September already and the kids are all back in school. Our eldest daughter Chloe started 10th grade, she called me at work after the first day and said "Mom, I'm finally a sophomore!" It is amazing how quickly time flies. Our son Pauly started 3rd grade and our daughter Kate started 1st grade, our youngest Kevin, Jr. will start preschool next year. Well, off to the demanding assortment of schedules we go! Hi, I hope everyone is well. Most of my school shopping is done. The boys are wearing uniforms this year which made buying clothes easier. I just found out that the Dept. of Agriculture found a tree with citrus canker on the block in front of mine which makes my little orange tree within the 1900 feet range. They will be cutting it down soon. It is a shame because I planted the tree just after we moved in our house and this would have been the first season it would have given is a good crop of oranges. Being that I usually cannot grow a thing(i have a black thumb) I was thrilled to see it flourish. Oh well at least the boys will have more room to play.

It's too bad you don't show your last names. I remember a Lane Holder, Jackie Swirsky, Greg Knight. I don't remember Meg. Is it possible to include last names on this site? Hi everyone. As I get closer to my due date, it's next weekend on Father's Day, I find sleeping through the night more and more difficult. I'm trying to get the nursery together but with my burgeoning stomach and exhaustion I can't do as much as I want to do! So that's why at 4:45am I'm visiting web sites I've been neglecting. Hope everyone is doing well and ready for summer. I don't know about elsewhere but here in Lake County Florida there must be a curse. It's raining everywhere but here and our lakes are drying up! There are a lot of fires and what's really funny is they smell like hot dogs! And it's not because I'm 9 months pregnant (LOL) my husband smells the hot dogs too. Well, just thought I'd say hey and see how everyone is.

What are your plans for this summer? We are taking the boys to Sea World in June. It will be their first time there. With the gas prices going so high, this might be our only trip out of town. But I'm sure we will put in some camping somewhere along the line. Have a good day!

On another message board, we were discussing the reason for the reasons for the school shootings.
One guy said he thought it had to do with guns. We should have more gun control.
I agree to a point, but I also think this would not solve the real reason for the violence.
Another person thought the media had something to do with it. (Meg, I think you also wrote that).
I agree with that point, too.
A teacher on the forum, thought the problem was with the parent/parents. So many parents do not spend time with their children.
This point has merit, too. A parent who is involved can help solve a situation.
What do you all think?
Also Meg, when I first heard about the second school shooting in San Diego, the news kept reporting rumors. I just wish they would get their facts straight and not make a circus out of everything!!
