I meant that the process is pretty clear once you have read the bookS.

Sure in the first book it's NOT clear, but I don't think it was meant to be.

But by the time you are done the entire series, it should be clear to you.

which is why I put the bit about Murbella's ceremony at the end. That bit of information there alone confirms how the process works. Water of life brings out ancestral memories. Sharing is a secondary thing that's done.

Also you have to figure that Reverend mother's aren't normally created like Jessica was, that was a rush situation, and there was no choice.
