Everyone so far had raised great opinions and points, but me being the oddity that I am I'd like to speak my two cents worth...

First off, I agree that the age difference between Irulan and Wensicia was a little odd(Irulan being the older of the two and all), but I really think that Susan Sarandon did a good job portraying Wensicia, despite the fact that her part was twisted and to some degree inlarged. But after all, why bash what seems to work??
Also, I agree with who ever mentioned that big hollywood names like Sarandon's are needed to attrack a wider range of viewers. And on the boycotting thing...well, I support America, the President, and I supported the war in Iraq but really, how is not doing things like watching tv shows or eating french fries(which aren't even really french!) going to hurt or help the country? And if people can't realize that..well, its their own misfortune.

On the topic of another Dune seris mini(or lack of one), ratings are only one reason why from where I stand it seems rather unlikely. By the time you get to GEoD, things start to get a little 'odd', or at least it would be more than a little difficult to portray a giant worm with a human head for television. Should they be able to get around just the initial designing chaos of that, then there may be a slight chance at a GEoD mini. But I believe that that would definatly be the end of the Sci-Fi minis for one simple reason: Honored Matres. Because to put it coarsely and frankly, they're masters of sex...how are you going to get that on television?!! And even so, I know I myself wouldn't really want to watch it, and its not as though you can cut out all refrences to it. Also, though I admit I'm not all the way done with Chapterhouse:Dune, the last two books in the seris seem to hold a lot less feeling than the first three(and God Emperor as well, though it is stretching it to say that) seemed to have; after all, everyone one of your original characters are dead 'swept away by the whirlwind', if you will.
Now, for all I know, Sci-Fi may come up with some brillient(sp) ways to get around the immense complications and issues presented by the last three books in the seris, but even if they do...its some how better to have a mental picture of how the half changed God Emperor Leto II looks than to be subject Sci-Fi's attempt(which I'm convinced wouldn't be all the best) and as far as the Honored Matres go...well, let's just say that they are definatly *not* my favorite aspect of the Dune novels.
