In the prequels, the Bene Tleilax are infamous as a group of religious fanatics. As such, the known parts of this religion would be well-documented by the Bene Gesserit.

My complaints about Amal and no-ships are, I suppose, more stylistic than actually inconsistant, so ignore them if you like.

The code of honor that I refer to is discussed at the beginning of Dune Messiah (page 19). Their victim must always have a means of escape.

Consider how they used this code of honor in their plot against Muad'dib. Their plan revolves around a "Trojan Horse" in the form of Hayt. They never force him to take this gift. In fact, they make sure that if Paul thinks to ask him why he was offered that he'll tell the truth: "They intend for me to destroy you." As long as Paul keeps this person around, the plan is in place; if he gets rid of him, then it is not. If he doesn't think to ask the obvious question, then he's just screwed.

They used no such elegance in their plot against House Vernius. They just barged in and forced them out, giving them no option that would keep them their way of life.
