Okay, it's better now. I realize that my last message was antagonizing and I apologize for that. It's just that I freak out when I see blatantly faulty logic. It wasn't my intent to make you change your mind -- only to hopefully get arguments that wouldn't make my brain explode. Now that your logic is sound, let me take my own advice and try to cool down a little bit.

By the way, I really enjoy debating with you, especially when it means going into great detail about Dune. If you don't feel the same way, I'm sorry. It's just that discussions including me will necessarily include very strong opinions.

Now, I must disagree with you when you say that the giant worms are completely out of the realm of possibility. For a small number of species to make up the entire ecology of a planet would be theoretically possible, the problems being the danger of the ecology being less stable and that the environment would be more hostile.

The one thing that really bothers me about them is that we don't really know what they eat, which must be quite a lot; but just because we never learn this doesn't necessarily make them unrealistic. It just means that there's stuff we don't know about them. If I remember right, they are also the ones who keep the atmospheric content stable by acting the part of plants and animals at the same time.

Now, the spice is simply an awareness-enhancing drug. Its taste and geriatric properties make it a popular spice, but, for the most part, it's nothing more than that. It doesn't "cause" interstellar travel. It just expands the awareness of Navigators so that they can see paths through the future. The Holtzmann engines are what fold space. As for causing people to orgy, I don't see how that's different from any other drug. It's the people that decide to orgy; the drug just helps them get into the mood, this one by putting them into an awareness-expanded high. I don't see how any of this leaves the realm of possibility.

So, do you not want to talk to me anymore? Who else would I vent my nitpickings to?
