Yeah, it seems as if there would be an incredibly large Universe out there to create stories with. Personally, while I find Teg to be cool, Duncan Idaho is my man in the later novels. It's funny because now he has all these powers of Sword master, mentat, male Honored Matre, and its even speculated that he may have prescient powers, and yet he is still a man trapped by that first life, his Atreides loyalty, and his own predictability.
I think he is interesting because I always ask, will he ever be more than his programming or will he always be remade to be used for some purpose? I don't know.
Teg is totally jedi-like. But he is very controlled. He is almost like a perfect person. It would be nice to see a little more personality in his younger self in the next novels.
Sheanna I found a little annoying, but maybe like the callow Paul Atreides she will become something more.
Murbella really grew on me as a character as I recall. She really changed over the course of those two books as her allegiances shifted. I hope her and Duncan finally reconcile.

The characters in the prelude novels are merely interesting for their origins. Xavier Harkonnen a noble soldier? Vorian Atreides the innocent dupe of a ruthless Cymek father? And the woman who starts the rift between the two future leaders of Noble Houses...I find that story interesting. Serena was okay, sometimes bordered on whiny, but was still very brave throughout I thought.
The only thing I never really understood was Erasmus. It seemed that he would perform these torturous experiments on humans to further "understand" humanity, but the experiments didn't really yield anything, so why keep performing them. Ah well, there was supposed to be a reason, I just forgot it.

But definitely an RPG, maybe set in the later books. you could craft your own character, attain new powers and levels of consciousness the more you played, unlock the secrets of the Spice, recruit friends, and battle the "great enemy". They have already done a number of games about Paul and killing HArkonnens and then just playing as the "general" of a Noble House and trying to kick the other Noble House's army's butts. I think something more creatively story oriented would be interesting. Or even something more amorphous like that Star Wars Galaxies online game thing they are coming out with. It probably will never happen though. Ah well.
