Author: El Duque
Subject: The age-old question. In my time, the losers were holed up in their dorm room with comic books and Organic Chem books. I'm sure this isn't endemic on the Bluff, and I wonder how schools from Duke to the University of Podunk manage to attract more engaged students.
In reply to: ztown 's message, "Sadly, there is a point here. Undergrads have ridiculous amounts of entertainment right in the dorm rooms (xbox, cable, online gaming, etc.) and this is how they are used to chilling out. I think it’s time for the annual brainstorm of ideas (promotions and advertising) that will pull kids away from another “epic” game of Madden football and get them to bball games. I’ll start…Posters for games asking, “5 years from now, will you reminisce about your college days like this? (Picture of slovenly dude playing video games) or like this? (Picture of fired up student section at Dukes’ game)”" on Friday, November 05, 10:07:11am
