Subject: I agree. The quote starts with "they're in great shape"...of course one way to read that is that the team will be in great shape basketball-wise with a player of this caliber. Now, with this additional information, you can read that quote as "they're in great shape...as the front-runner." Def not a commitment in that quote.
In reply to: WashpaRick 's message, "After reading the Trib story again his coach calls us the front runner. Then he says he's going to sign but not till spring. He didn't say he was signing with us. If the coach told the Trib he was signing with us no reason to call us the frontrunner. Sounds like some miscommunication." on Friday, October 29, 03:01:26pm

  • That's quite a bit of speculation, isn't it? Especially about a coach that you know nothing about save for a few quotes over the past two days. Isn't it also possible that this coach is looking out for a kid who verballed to the first place he visited, and just wants him to slow down a bit? I'd probably be telling the kid the same thing -- why don't you wait and see what other schools come offering during this, your SECOND season, in which you have yet to play a game.
