Date Posted: 16:05:45 05/19/03 Mon In reply to: Dark Fire 's message, "Re: ~+~*you looked around.*~+~" on 14:34:15 05/19/03 Mon ~+~*he extended one arm, causing the arm of the trench coat to pull back and reveal a small, blue crystal band around his wrist. there were 4 strands of hair within the crystal- one of silver, one of bright firey red, and one of light brown. the fourth was a strand of jet black, which belonged to Treyvan.*~+~ the black strand is mine, the other 3..... they belonged to the only people i would have been willing to call my friends, because they shared the same life problems as i now do.... one of them was murdered when we first got away from the Gate, one took their own life, and one was killed by a disease.... i am the only one that has made it this far..... ~+~*he sighed, and shook his head.*~+~ maybe if i tell you, you will realize that my having friends is a menial effort. our people were not born naturally, the first of us were created by the Spirits. that is why our eyes are reflective- that was the special feature that they gave us. not that it did us a great deal of good. any ways, we were created to be Gatekeepers to a realm known as the Eyre. this realm is far beyond that of the Spirits Realms..... it lies at the very center of existance. this was the place that allows Spirits to exist at all, really. humans eventually discovered the Gate, and began trying to get into it to manipulate existance to their will. we, naturally, were oathbound to protect the Gate. so my ancestors placed a seal upon it- a spirit wave, identical to that of a recently deceased elder. a spirit wave is just a little code rendered by the Eyre to decide what abilities and how much power a single being can possess. so, the humans gave up. a few years passed before the first of us was born- the girl who, once we were out, offered to give me her heart.... she had a spirit wave similar to that of the elder, but not identical. she was sacraficed, and absorbed into the gate because my people feared that she might be able to break the seal. the next born was the boy who was my best friend until he became ill and died. he, like the girl, had a similar wave, and was offered to the gate, and absorbed into it. then i was born. my spirit wave matched, every length and frequency identical.... the gate would not absorb me, so they built another. one leading to the outer world, a secluded place at the eastern edge of it. they sealed me there for the longest time, in the darkness, in the cold, by myself..... while i was there, the last of us- the other girl who later killed herself was born and absorbed into the gate. humans eventually returned, and destroyed those of us outside the gates and broke the seal upon mine. when they realized that i was a sort of 'key' for the Gate, they placed me within it and tried to force me into opening it. the energy of the Gate kept me alive for countless years, before i was finally absorbed upon refuse to yield their requests. i do not know how many yeaars passed, but.... ~+~*he covered the band on his arm, and leaned back against the wall.*~+~ ...the Gate..... it gave its power to us and released us. the girl who i had fallen in love with inside was murdered when the human civilization found us.... they had colonized our peoples world, waiting to get into the Gate. they realized when she died that we had been released from the Gate. we fled, and for a while, stayed in a small kingdom in the inner realms.... there, my last friends both died, and i came here. i made only one friend..... only one.... he, uhh.... was murdered by the Spirits in an attempt to get me out into the open. that is how they know that i am here..... ~+~*he closed his eyes.*~+~ ....the power that the Gate gave me has kept me safe. i do not show up in aany realm other than the planes in the Eyre and the physical, because this is the realm i was born into. i have tight shields up to prevent them from tracking my thoughts and what little of my magic i use...... but everybody that gets close to me has ended up dead.... and if those damned spirits do not relent, i fear that i will soon be joining them....
