Date Posted: 17:30:33 06/30/03 Mon ~*~*you watched the dragons in the air. it seemed, after you were over the initial shock of seeing them maim each other, that this looked like some sort of beautiful ballet. the Ruby Dragon was the smaller of the two- deeply tinted red scales covered its body, which was built more or less for flight, and less to ground travel. it had a long body, with somewhat short legs, as well as very long, very narrow wings that were built for speed, but probably lacked endurance. down its back, there were spines that folded in to its back when it took a dive, and its hear was odd, more so than you had seen on most dragons. its snout was very thin, and longer than normal- coming to a dull point. it eyes were set further back, located just in front of a small series of horns that were lined with the same membranes as the wings. the rider upon its back was a young woman, very young, in fact- probably only 13 or 14. she was dressed in a scarlet robe, and was holding onto her dragon for dear life- while in one hand, she also clutched a silvery flute. a bard, simply put. your gaze turned to the emerald Dragon. it was similar to the Ruby, but with a much shorter body, and longer legs. its wings were also more broad than long, and its scales were a very deep shade of green. its head, while not coming to a round point, was still a bit long, lines with various horns, but no membranes. you noticed also, that like the Silver Dragons, the wings consisted of feathers, and not of skin. its tail, oddly, was longer than that of the Ruby Dragon, tipped with a clump of feathers, all in the same deep green as its body. on the Emerald's back was a man, older, and probably in his 30's, dressed in light green robes. he then, was aa healer. you could not see any of them very well, nor did you know why they were fighting. the portal had closed, and they were at it again, slashing and biting, and using their horns for the chance to rip out the throat of the other. it seemed, also, that they were trying to knock the other Rider off. that made sense- if the Rider died, so would the dragon. it was not long before both of them lost the fight against fatigue, and one good knock to the head put both dragons out. they plunged to the streets- the Ruby Dragon and its Rider landing not too far from you, while the Emerald and its Rider landed some distance away. you had no choice but to see if they were OK- afterall, they might be worth having as friends. you slowly approached the Ruby Dragon as it and its Rider slowly began to stirr. besides the scarlet robes, you could see that the girl was a blonde with blue eyes, and had a scar down one of her cheeks. she was, more or less, tall for her age, though not too much so that it would be abnormal. she looked up at you with frightened eyes, then relaxed a bit when she realized that the Emerald Rider was nowhere to be seen. her dragon stared at you- you saw now that it was more like a serpent or an oriental dragon, because the initial spines on its back were a line of hair, and it had a long whip like whisker on each side of its snout. that, and it was very thin for its length- like a snake with legs. it was ready to protect the girl, who slowly stood up, and looked at you very carefully.*~*~ ...are you with him? or is he gone now? if you are with him, then.... then.... ~*~*she could not finish the thought before she lost all control, and began to cry.*~*~ [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
