Might be one of the worst games I can remember.

Easily one of the worst TV productions I can remember. There have been a fair number of big plays, but almost no replays. There seem to be only 2 camera angles. I flipped to Harvard Priceton at one point, and that production work seemed far superior. Is it always that way at Cornell?

It struck me that once Brown got an 11-point lead, it started playing not to lose. Murphy was having a terrific day, but we almost stopped throwing the ball, and we had been unable to move the ball on the ground for the entire game. The result was two punts and a missed field goal, giving Cornell the chance to get back into the game. The defense had been playing well, but may have gotten tired from so much time on the field in the 4th quarter.

This will be a long trip home for Brown in a game that it should have won.

Still plenty of football left, but this could put Perry back on the hot seat.

Any goodwill from the URI game is likely gone by now...

Despite the Ivy record, there has been much progress this year, particularly by the defense. Today's loss, however, is a really tough one, and it's hard to see Brown beating Dartmouth or Yale, and both Columbia and Penn will be tough games.

I like the fight in this team. Nice game by Cornell's freshman WR.

Agreed as I think we were down two scores in the last five minutes and tied the score to force over time. Finally a game went our way for a change. Next up Princeton next week. GBR!!!

In the 1960s Brown could not get out of its way. So they hired a man named Len Jardine to coach. Jardine did much to upgrade the Brown personnel, but he couldn't win. In fact, his teams always snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, much like what happened today. After 6 miserable years, Jardine was replaced by John Anderson. And a strange thing began to happen, Brown started to win, something they had done in 15 years. In fact, they had 8 straight winning seasons under Anderson. What is important to note is that Anderson began to win with the players Jardine recruited, not his own recruits. So why was Anderson an immediate success and Jardine a failure? Why? because it doesn't take a good coach forever to win. A good coach knows how to recruit, motivate, strategize, and lead. It is actually quite rare to find all of these traits in one person. I am not sure which of these traits Perry lacks, but it is obvious that something is missing. And I can't really see the situation getting better under Perry. Why? Because if the program were heading in the right direction, the results would already be showing. They're not. Is it time to start looking for a new coach? I think so.

No, it's not time. Perry isn't going anywhere after this season.

Glenn: I have no doubt that you are correct in assuming that Perry will be around next year. But that doesn't mean he should be. When Al Bagnoli took over Columbia, Columbia had not won since Christopher Columbus arrived in the new world. But by year 3, Columbia achieved an 8-2 record and in the next four years they had 3 winning seasons. When Perry took over, Brown was down. But it was nothing like the wreck that Bagnoli inherited at Columbia. Yet in 3 years, Bagnoli had resurrected that moribund program. A good coach, and Bagnoli was among the best, doesn't need 10 years to achieve a winning record. It is now year 6 for Perry and he is still floundering. Perry was one of the greatest QBs in the ivy league, he was a great offensive coordinator for Princeton, yet he is flop as a head coach. Those who think he is going to turn Brown around are merely whistling past the graveyard. After all it is Halloween.

The clock management during the last five minutes was horrible and that's on Perry. However, a couple of wins might save him. Where is the team that beat URI.

When people are comparing Perry to Archer, this is what they're talking about.

Archer's teams had a way of playing awesome football against one tough opponent for an upset nobody saw coming... but playing meh the other 9 games of the season.
