Interesting, a little technical. I guess it makes sense for racing but also for cruising to have your sails so finely tuned. Small increases in eficiency would mke a big difference if you were sailing a long distance on the same tack/pt of sail.

But just wondering what most people actually do with their sails in storm conditions. I'd probably just keep the main up bc its smaller and reefable. I'd still be inclined to think a smaller storm jib might be better though but I hve no actual experience in this type of situation.
