Author: Anna
Subject: Anna shifted slightly, moving so she was facing him more directly. She had completely mastered the image of a university student- you know, the hoodie with the university’s label and slogan printed across the front- and a pair of faded jeans to match. Anna’s wavy blond hair was loosely drawn up into a ponytail- the occasional rebellious piece falling loose. The truth was that all of her cloths had been burned in the fire. The university had given away a complementary sweater to her and the other students who had lost nearly everything in the fire. The jeans were actually Jessica’s- who had lent them to Anna. The girl really wasn’t so bad- even if she was totally lost on the love thing. Anna just nodded for a moment as he answered, and then as he questioned her she lifted her book for him to see. “The Bell Jar.”She answered. It was one of her classic favourites.

  • He smiled a little at the shift in her body positioning - friendly people always won extra brownie points. Especially when they were, thankfully, distracting him from the work that he so clearly didn't feel like doing. He didn't have to submit it until the end of the week anyway, and he always worked best under pressure. Procrastination had never been bad a thing for him, though everyone else seemed to gripe about it. "Is it good?" He couldn't say that he had read it, but the name sounded familiar, so he inquired out of curiosity - always open to recommendations. He set down his papers then, officially signaling the end of his attempts to concentrate, and twisted his chair a little in her direction, and propped his feet up on the low coffee table - not feeling the least bit guilty, though he knew that that wasn't the most polite gesture in a public setting. This place was laid back though, and he was a long-time regular. (NT) -- Christian, Thu, Feb 09 2006, 6:02pm PST
