  • He frowned, his eyes raking none to subtley over her form before he tipped his head. "Am I supposed to know you?" He questioned, the voice carrying an arrogant air but there was the underlying question on it too. Since he had been in the hospital he had been forgetting things constantly and that bothered him. There was more to his anger and aggravation then just not being able to fight, it was the complete lack of control. He was the man who was always in control of the situation, always had a handle on what was going on and could work things to play out the way he wanted them - This...this he had no control over and it scared the shit out of him. • Her smile never faltered as she moved right over to stand beside his bed, pausing there for a moment so that he could comfortably take a good look at her, before laying down his folder and heading over to the window to draw the blinds - opening up the outlet to the rest of the world. He could be a little bit of a difficult patient from time to time and now was one of those times. If he had his choice he would have been out of here days ago and back home in his impressive estates with the stables and the horses and the peace and quiet and intense lack of poking and prodding but doctors and their damn tests and needles. She reminded him, as kindly but firmly as possibly - she was a slight girl, tiny really relative to him, but she was strong-willed and there was something about her tone that invited no arguments. "And I promise that I won't act like your babysitter. I'm just around to give you some guidance and keep an eye on how your health progresses. Besides, don't you want to go home?" • He frowned softly, he felt like he was being spoken to like a child and that wasn't appreciated either. "I hit things for a living, you people act like I can't handle being jostled around a bit." He let his eyes trail over her for a moment again - not trying to hide his gaze - she was a cute little thing but still she stood for everything that had been making his life a living hell these past couple of days so he wasn't very impressed by her in the least. She commented quite matter-of-factly, and jotted down a couple notes before shifting to stand against, a hand touching his arm as one eye closed in a wink. "Trust me. This isn't the end of the world. • He frowned again, letting his head drop back down against the pillows as a slight dizzy wave spread over him. He hated this weakness, it was what was going to kill him. He didn't even remember the chicks name but not because of his memory issues, just because he hadn't been paying attention when she was talking. He patted the table next to him, finding the remote and turning on sports center without acknowledging anything she had just said - if it was important she would tell him again. • She just smiled and pushed the chair back to its corner before clicking out of the room - undisturbed, though her smile turned wry the moment she exited the room and a passing by resident nurse laughed knowingly. The guy was, simply put, a lug, it appeared. Not much of a charmer. She didn't mind though - this was her job, and though she loved it, it didn't mean she would always love her assignments. Undeterred, she made her way over to the nurses' station where she leaned over the counter and chatted with the woman behind it - getting his stuff all sorted out, but chit-chatting a little at the same time. • He actually was quite the charmer - quite the ladies man - but with his mood the way it was due to the weakness that was threatening his masculinity the charm was put aside and so was the basic common civility towards other human beings. He just wanted this to be over with. He had been the defecto winner of the fight because his opponent had been disqualified due to the illegal punch that had knocked him out and put him in the hospital and that put the belt within his reach but that was of no consolation to him because with him being laid up he was out of the game for the year...what was he supposed to do? • She returned a while later - after getting the preliminary paperwork set up for him to sign and whatnot, she headed downstairs to meet his doctors for lunch for one final informal lunch meeting before she was officially on her own. It was a good hour or so later before she returned to his room, but she came bearing gifts - a bag of his things and the paperwork that would have them on their way. "Alright. Enough lying around. Let's get you out of here." She stated, as she dropped back down onto the chair next to his bed, and pulled it closer while she buzzed his electronic bed up so that he was sitting more, and then wordlessly rearranged the pillows behind him into a comfortable set up. • He glanced over at her, rolling his eyes before he took the paperwork and the pen. Casually he went about signing it before he realized that his hand was shaking and he couldn't grip the pen. Clearing his throat, he focused himself completely on the task, swearing loudly when the signitature came out completely ineligable and completely off the line where it was supposed to be. • She smiled reassuringly - not the least bit patronizing, but totally understanding. "You've got a couple more to practice on. And no, sorry dear. I don't pull plugs." She rested one elbow on the bed and her chin in her hand, reaching over with her other hand to flip the pages for him until he was all done. Finally, she laid another page down and hurried through a disclaimer and some information and whatnot that was strictly procedure. "Just nod and say you understand." • "Sure. Whatever." He looked over at his clothes, letting out a slow breath. This could really be more difficult then he origionally anticipated. "Mind giving me some privacy or are you looking for a show?" He growled out, running his hand over his head, trying to get the shaky to cease. He got twitches too, in his jaw and in his eye - this kinda stuff was going to drive him crazy not to mention having this girl around all the time? • "I don't need a show, thanks for the offer." She assured him as she gathered the paperwork up and dumped his clothes out on the bed, but looked firmly at him while she stood. "Don't try to change standing on your own. You're going to want to use the bed because you are going to be a little shaky - remember you haven't been up and about for a few days. And we're going to wheel you out of here - hospital policy - but don't worry, you're on your own when we get to your place. Just press the call button when you're ready to go, or if you need a hand." • He waved her off with a growl and a mumbled 'yeah yeah' waiting till the door was shut before he dropped back onto the bed, taking a few calming breaths. All he wanted to do at the moment was break down and throw a temper tantrum like a baby. This wasn't fair. He was the best there was, shit like this didn't happen to the best. It took him a good fifteen minutes - he refused to ask for help - to get himself cleaned up a bit and dressed and back to sitting up in the bed - being straight up gave him a bad sense of vertigo and made him a bit nausuas... • "Alright, perfect..." She commented as she returned, wheeling a chair for him, and then lined it up next to the bed with the brakes on. Typically, she would have offered a hand to help him off the bed and down in to the wheelchair, but she could tell already that he would merely scoff at it, so just made sure that she was near enough by to steady him if he got off balance. This wasn't just a case of him being off of his feet for a few days - his brain was all muddled and she knew it, but he wouldn't hear her if she said it. He would figure it out soon enough though. • "Yeah, I got it. Hold this though." She unceremoniously - but gently - dumped a bag into his lap and draped another over one of the handles of the chair. "Alright?" Making sure his feet were up and they had everything out of the room, she unlocked the brakes and began the slow, gentle trek out - careful not to jostle too much. It wouldn't do to have him getting sick in the middle of the hospital. She doubted that his pride could take it. Eventually, they made it out to her new model little red Jetta waiting out in the staff parking area - tidy, and professional, but feminine looking. A good match for it's owner... He stated in response to the efficiant car before he looked to her, slowly standing up and then sliding into the car. He left the stuff for her to put in - usually, really, he was much more socialable and polite and to be honest his mama would smack him across the face if she could see him behaving like this towards a girl but hey...he could beg off the punishment since he couldn't get hit in the head at least... • "Yeah. Thanks." She responded just as tartly, but lingered there until he was in and settled, then closed the door for him and took a deep breath while she loaded his things into her car. He was being awfully cold, but she reminded herself that this was part of the job - dealing with the mental aspects of adjusting to or overcoming injury or poor health. By the time she slid into the driver's seat, a hint of a smile had returned to her features and she felt ready to give this a shot. She was a determined girl.
