Dear Local, State and National Forestry Queens and Local Directors and former Forestry Queens,

Our statewide Christmas Party will be held on December 13th at the Abac Dining Hall in Tifton at 7:00 P.M. We will have a DJ and the Christmas Party will be open to all Local, State, and National Forestry Queens as well as Directors and former Forestry Queens. Each girl can bring a friend. The Christmas Party is open to all ages Baby through Miss. We will have Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and the elves joining us at the party. We will have santa claus, dancing, and lots of good food. Dress will be Christmas attire! More details will come soon, I just wanted to let you know so that you can mark your calendars.

Subject: Tift County Forestry and Pine Seedling Queens

The Tift County Forestry and Pine Seedling Queens will cut the ribbon to open our Coastal Plains Fair tomorrow November 4th at 5:00 P.M. We are very excited, the queens will get to ride all the rides free after the ribbon cutting.

If you are in Tifton, visit our Coastal Plains Fair each evening. The American Legion does a great job with our county fair each year. I want to thank them for inviting our Forestry Queens each year.

I've been extremely busy with my classes at Georgia Southern and working 2 jobs! (Don't ask me how I do it!) I will be graduating in May with my degree in Early Childhood Education :) I've done some pageants in different systems, but nothing has come even close to comparing to the FORESTRY PAGEANT SYSTEM! I know that nothing will ever replace my experiences that I have had as the Georgia and U.S. National Forestry Queen. With that being said, it's that time again for local prelims to take place. I encourage every pageant girl I meet to give Forestry a shot. I love this pageant and everyone involved. For those that do enter the forestry pageants, please take this seriously when I say that winning a forestry title (whether it may be local, state, or national) is just like having a job. If you work at it and do all that you can, to the best of your ability, this job will be a lot of fun and will become a special memory in your heart when it ends and you look back on this time. However, if you are just a crown chaser....PLEASE DO NOT enter the forestry family. Do the "Miss Sweet Georgia Sunshine Princess" pageant or something. There are girls that really want to be involved with forestry and all of it's many aspects and opportunities. If you win a forestry title, please don't sit on your crown! Make the most of your year! Do appearances that you don't even have to make! It kills me that I can't wear my State or National crowns anymore! If you truly know me, you know that I loved being in the spotlight any time that I had the opportunity....not to promote myself but to promote what should be the reason that we are all involved in the pageant, Forestry. If you truly know me, you know that I worked very hard at the appearances that I made. I tried to be the best role model for my sister queens, be a close friend to the local girls when I would see them at appearances, promote forestry, and have a great time working at all of my appearances. State queens....have you realized that your year is already 1/4 of the way over?? It flies by so quickly! I truly miss not being able to be in the forestry appearances as the State and National queen. I'm the Co-Director of the Miss Toombs County Forestry pageant because I wanted to stay involved with this system. I still work with and help ANY girl that wants to win a forestry title. If anyone ever has any questions or would like a helping hand with the forestry pageant, just ask and I will do what I can! I can't even tell you how many girls I helped and talked to before State and Nationals this year! Anyway.......Best wishes to all and good luck at the local pageants!! The National Forestry Queens are here this weekend and are looking beautiful and are having a blast!! The rain cleared up and all the National Queens made it safely. They were special guests last night at the festivities downtown...the National Forestry Festival Committee set up an area at the courthouse for the National Queens to sign autographs and meet and greet people. They were honored this morning at 8:00 A.M. with a reception in their honor and just finished participating in the National Forestry Festival Parade. They have met and talked with the Governor here along with numerous other state and national diginitaries. They are headed now to the Festival...one of the largest promoting Forestry Nationally. The queens will be special guests there where they will be interviewed onstage and by radio. All the National Forestry Queens are here except for Salee...we miss her and hate that she missed it. We will report more as we know.

The first is that this week has been proclamed National Forest Products Week by President Bush. You can read the proclamation online at http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2008/10/20081016-5.html The second is a proposed amendment to the Georgia Constituion. House Resolution No. 1276 is designed "to encourage the preservation of Georgia's forests through a conservation use property tax reduction program." This is Amendment 1 on the ballot. Please encourage everyone to vote "YES" for Amendment One to protect our forest lands! I learned about this amendment at the regional Georgia Forestry Association meeting I attended here in Forsyth, along with lots of other great information. I am more convinced than ever that it is a huge honor to represent the most dynamic industry in the U.S.A! Can't wait to see all my sister queens and their families at the Florida Forest Festival this weekend. You guys drive safe and let's go have some fun!!! Sam and I went SHOPPING yesterday for the girls competing!! We got some AWESOME STUFF!!!! As I said before everyone can't crown BUT noone will go home empty handed!!! We are excited about this pageant it was a huge sucess last year and I know that my Daddy was soooo proud of EVERYONE who had a part in making it successful! I am praying for a bigger and better pageant this year!!!! For those of you that don't know my MOM past away a few months ago...she told EVERYONE she knew about the pageant she was SOOO PROUD of us!!! I know that She and Daddy both will be in heaven this year watching over us!!!! Thanks so much to everyone that participated or assisted with our pageant yesterday. I can honestly say this was one of the MOST fun pageants I have ever been involved in, I loved the Rock Star theme, and the outfits that the girls came up with were AMAZING!! You were all so creative and beautiful!! We had 25 amazing young ladies and 2 of the BEST judges I could have ever asked for! Thank you Mrs. Lydia and Brenna for doing such a fantastic job!! Thanks to mama for watching the front, Aaron for loading and unloading, Missy for helping crown and decorate, Mrs Bobbie and Angie for handling about 20 girls between you both, WOW!!! Also, to my wonderful supportive pageant parents and family! I love you all!!!

Hello everyone,

Please keep us all on the coast in your prayers as we faithfully watch what the next 3 storms are going to do. If anyone needs a place to go or stay, please contact me, my parents have extra room in their home.

We have all been blessed here on the coast not to have had the "big one" hit us. I remember in 1999 when we had to escape St Simons due to Floyd which was then a Cat 5 monster!! It was amazing that God turned it at the last second away from us and all we received was some rain and winds, I know that God can do this again!!!

The National Forestry Pageant will be held on August 30, 2008 at the Performing Arts Center at the Tift County High School. Teeny and Tiny will be held at 5:30 P.M. Little, Junior, Teen, and Miss will be held at 7:00 P.M. The doors will open one hour prior to pageant time. We have some beautiful girls competing. Sumner School Auditorium, Sumner, Ga

Pageant will benefit the Alzheimer's Association
in Honor of Theron Clements

Divisions:
*Baby 0-2 *Junior 10-12
* Teeny 3-4 *Teen 13-16
*Tiny 5-6 *Miss 17-24
*Little 7-9 *Ms 25+

*People's Choice: This is the girl that collects the most $1.00 votes before and up until the pageant starts. There will be one people's choice winner for 0-9yrs and one for ages 10+. Must collect $100.00 to qualify, so start collecting your votes now!

*Awards: All division queens will receive a beautiful rhinestone crown, trophy, sash, COTTON bouquet, COTTON bag loaded with great gifts!! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runners-up will receive a nice gift.

*Optionals: Prettiest smile, prettiest hair, prettiest eyes, prettiest dress, and most photogenic. Optionals will be judged during a group line-up and the winners will receive a nice gift.

*Door admission: $5.00 per person. Contestant and ONE attendant will be admitted free. Contestants will be mailed a "FREE PASS" for one person; you will need to keep up with this pass as only one per person will be given out. Absolutely NO FREE ADMITS without this coupon. I just wanted to let you all know how MUCH I appreciated the baby gifts today at the Directors' forum!! We really needed all of the items we received, and will be able to put EVERYTHING to very good use!! I love you all and want to thank you all for being so open and loving. I know I always have someone to go to when I need a shoulder to cry on or a warm inviting hug. Mrs. D, you've got some awesome directors and some great judges, and I'm so excited that mama and I will both be able to experience directing and judging together!! She is just as excited about it all as I am, lol!!! God bless you all!!

We had nineteen young ladies who entered both pageants and it was an exciting time for all of us. I would like to thank the judges for doing a wonderful job of choosing our queens. Our thanks to Sarah Gregory from Ridgeland, SC, Tammy Richardson from Waycross, GA, Julie Adams from Ailey, GA, and Gilda Dixon from Waycross, GA. I had not met any of the Judges with the exception of one prior to the pageant but they came with really great credentials. Our Auditing was done by The Firm of Larry Golden and Associates, CPA. Thanks to my two wonderful daughters, Gail Standard and Cathy Correa for their never ending support and love. And to Theresa Glandon, Michelle Lewallen, Shayna Brown (the reigning Miss Liberty Fest 2007/08) and Shantal Smith (the reigning Miss Hinesville) for all the help and support always. Thanks always to the ladies that help make these young ladies look so pretty. Ms. Bobbie, Ms Daphne, Ms Pepper, Ms. Lacey and Ms. Julie for tanning.
