I just wanted to thank everyone for the calls, prayers and emails this past week. I laid my daddy to rest on Thursday, he is home now. He was sick for so long. Please continue your prayers, as they are always needed.
Mrs. Dianne the flowers were absolutely beautiful. We planted them in a beautiful spot in the yard. He loved beautiful flowers.
Jennifer and Pam you are truly two of the best friends anyone could have at a time like this. I love both of you dearly!!

Now, I want to wish all the contestants the best of luck. You all have worked very hard to get to grace the State Forestry stage. One thing, I want to remind you and I know you hear it like a broken record...but you all are WINNERS!!!You are coming to state as a winner and you all will go home as winners. We can truely say this in Forestry because you all have been crowned county queens and you will go home as a county queen. Your local director will have many events planned for you during the upcoming year. It is important in any competition to stay focused, but you are doing a once in lifetime event, so please don't get so caught up in the competition that you forget to have fun!! Remember to make many friends, smile pretty and have fun!!! Bring those cars decorated and don't forget to decorate your posters and put them in your motel window.

Now, lets see who reads the board and just for fun!!! Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I will post a trivia question on this board and the first one to email me at missgaforestry@yahoo.com with the correct answer will win one free ticket to the pageant of their choice. Keep watching the board, I could post anytime during the day or evening. You don't have to be a contestant or a parent of a contestant to enter, the contestant is open to anyone.

I pray for safe travels for everyone and I pray that you all find the pageant weekend to be very enjoyable and that you all go home feeling good about yourselves and that you meet and make many wonderful friends!! Remember, one girl will be chosen by the judges to wear the state title, so remember to support whoever that will be...she will be representing you all throughout the state.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday.

It is a size 3T-5T. It is a halter top and is full glitz! AB and swarovski stones all over.

Hello Everyone!!

What a fun day we all had at Hello Kitty!!! It was a bit warm, but we all endured!

I would like to first say a few thank-you's before announcing the winners:

Thank you to my mom and Asya Muhammad Miss Chatham Co Forestry Queen for running the door. Mama, thanks for all of the baking and food preping! I think you've found your nitch, lol! Asya, thanks for keeping everything tidy, keeping the kittens in their basket, and keeping me straight, as always!

Kelsie Taylor, Teen Miss Bryan Co Forestry and Meghan Westberry Teen Miss Camden Co Forestry, you 2 are angels!! In three weeks The Georgia Forestry Pageant and Educational Association, Inc. will crown the 69th Annual Miss Georgia Forestry Queens. This time of the year is always exciting and sad for me. I am always excited to see everyone at state, but I am also excited the most, to see the beautiful faces that have worked so hard to be able to grace the State Forestry stage. It always amazes me how much the girls have grown in poise and confidence from the time they win their local until they arrive at state. I am anxious and excited to see who will be joining the Georgia Forestry Family as the 69th set of Forestry Queens are crowned. I love watching the faces of all the Local Directors, families, friends, and supporters as their girl approaches the stage. There is nothing more touching than seeing the pride in everyone's face as they support their contestant. It always amazes me how the State Queens have grown in confidence from the time they are crowned until they come back to relinquish their crowns. Although, I am excited for all the contestants, it always saddens me to give up my State Queens. When you work closely with a group of girls for one year, they steal your heart. They become one of your own. I am always the first to correct them if they are wrong, but I am also the first that will go to battle for them if someone is mistreating them. When we crown a new set of Forestry Queens each year, the queens are always different...different personalities, different views, different ideas and so forth, but each queen is unique in her own way and is always a pleasure to work with. Our 2007 Miss Georgia Forestry Queens brought many personalities and ideas to the Pageant. They are a hard working and dedicated group of girls. Laura, I can only say, you are wonderful! Georgia fell in love with you this year. You were always professional, dependable and a joy to be around. You were a great big sister to your little sister queens and they all love you to death. I had compliments on you everywhere you went. I look forward to working with you in a different capacity this upcoming year, Laura will remain in the Forestry Family as a Director. Emerald, you are an amazing young lady, you have worked very hard and I am so proud of you! You are not only beautiful but smart as well. Thank you for taking care of the younger girls, they look up to you as well. Madison, what can I say...I look back at the first time you competed in Tifton in one of my pageants. You have grown so much in confidence. You are such a beautiful and loving girl, stay that way and you will go far in life. I don't think you, Laura, or Emerald missed an event this year. I thank you all for being there and I hope you not only had the time of your life, but I hope you found every event to be meaningful and educational. Brittany, you have been a great Teen Miss Georgia Forestry and I want to thank you for all your dedication to the pageant. I pray that you will overcome the injuries from your automobile accident and will be back to yourself very soon. Amber Brooke, you are such a beauty and yes you lucky girl, you got to be a State Queen, not only once, but twice. You and Bobbie are always there to do whatever needs to be done and are a pleasure to work with. I appreciate your support. Yasmin, you are such a pretty girl. You and your mom are two of the sweetest people. It has been an honor to work with both of you this past year. Ava, you steal the show! People ooo and aww over you everywhere you go. You are such a cutie! I have enjoyed working with you and your mom this past year. To all of you, I and the Forestry Pageant love each and everyone of you. I know God has special plans for each of you. When God closes one door, he opens windows, take advantage of every opportunity that God blesses you with. To all the 2008 contestants, you have some tough shoes to fill!

We have started putting the contestants pictures up on the state website. These pictures are solely for the enjoyment of the contestants, their families, and supporters. If I hear of YOU going to a trash board and posting ugly or negative things about our contestants, these pictures will come down as fast as they went up!!!
That is not what Forestry is about nor will we tolerate it!
Every contestant competing for the Miss Georgia Forestry titles are beautiful and all have equal chance. Please feel free to wish your favorite contestant the best of luck on this board...that is what this board is here for.

Now, I hope you all enjoy the pictures and please support the girls, they have worked very hard to get where they are at.

All older girls (Little-Miss/Mrs) have been invited to attend the annual National Guard Conference on Jekyll Island June 6-7. We will be face painting, assisting with childrens' games, and other various activities. This is a wonderful event with many dignitaries, including the Governor and other important people. I'm very excited about this event, and my girls are planning on pitching in and renting a villa the Fri and Sat nights and we are going to do a photo shoot on Sat/Sun on the beach and cram for interview and speeches, so you are more than welcome to come and join us!

Hello Everyone,

As you all know, parts of my beloved county of McIntosh were ravaged by a tornado on Mother's Day, of all days. One of the worst hit areas was our Industrial Park on Hwy 251. One of these destroyed areas was Gateway Center, it is a center for abused women and their children to come and be protected and find a haven from all of their suffering. This building was completely demolished leaving the women and children with no where to go. Below is a list of items they need, if you can find it in your hearts to help them, please let us know. My forestry queens have been working together to get things together and we are taking some items to them.

For those of you who dont already know Miss Lacey will be getting married on May 31st in Fernandina Beach she will be out of town from May 28th until June 4th. She will have her schedule ready on June 9th monday. She will have no computer access until she gets home. Also her cell dosent work down there. If you need anything you can contact Angie Miles at 912 383 6378, she will be able to help you. If you have booked with Miss Lacey please remember to send her an e-mail with your childs name, age and contact info in it, so that she can let you know your time and where she will be working. Many have asked about tannin if you do need tanning she has someone that will be with her that will be available to do spray tanning. Hello All!!! I just wanted you all to know that Aaron, Trinity and I learned today that we are having a boy!! We are so excited!! Aaron can't stop smiling!! Trinity is a bit disappointed, lol, but everyone else is tickled!! This will be the only grandson of 5 grandchildren on Aaron's side of the family. Aaron is working on getting a name picked out, but we'll keep you all posted!!

Dani Taylor, Miss Early Co. Forestry and her family are in tremendous need of our Forestry Family's prayers. Her father, James Taylor was injured in a chemical spill at his job last week. He suffered burns on 24% of his body and 4% of those burns were 3rd degree. He also inhaled the chemical (lime) and his lungs are also burned badly. He is the Augusta Burn Center in Augusta, GA. He will be there for a month or longer. Please pray for Dani's father and their family. We all know that anything is possible through prayer. I've just returned home from Glynn, McIntosh Bryan and Camden Co Forestry Queens' Night Out! We had so much fun eating at Tokyo Joes Japanese Steakhouse and watching a movie in Brunswick. Tornados have touched down in McIntosh and Glynn Counties today. A devasting tornado missed our family farm by three miles. We don't know how many houses or people that have been affected yet because the roads are being blocked.You can check the WTOC website for the video of some of the destruction. Please keep the residents of McIntosh and Glynn in your prayers.

I would like to thank my Brantley Forestry Queens Teeny Miss- Kassidy Johnson, Tiny Miss- Mattie Davison, Hospitality- Brittany Strickland, Teen Miss- Nikkie Music, and Miss- Lindsey Little for helping at The Taste of Brantley Event you girls done an awesome job. The girls also got to meet the celebrity judge Hans Reuffert from the Food Network channel and they got a picture with him while they were helping with The Blueberry Desserts contest the event might be on the food network channel so the girls also might be seen on the network. Everyone please remember Teeny Miss Bryan Co Forestry Queen Lindsey Williams' Grandmother Christine Emery in your prayers. She suffered a heart attack last Monday and had to undergo surgery for a stint to be placed.

Also, please remember my family and I as we are traveling to England on Monday to visit my husband's family. I am a bit nervous, but we are excited.

Ejaye Craig's (2005 Miss U S National Forestry Hospitality Queen) brother-in-law has a rare cancer. This cancer is not responding to the Chemotherapy. We are trying to get into a clinical trial where he will receive a Stem Cell Transplant. We need a miracle. Dennis is 27 years old and has 3 young children. Please pray for Dennis and our family. Thank you all so much.

Brittany was hurt in a car accident. A drunk driver turned in front of the vehicle she was riding in and Brittany's face was hurt pretty bad. She's had some surgeries and will have to have more. Please keep her in your prayers.

Hi forestry family and pageant friends! Yasmin and I would like to wish good luck to all the contestants this year. We haven't been busy doing hardly anything. I have gone back to school and it is taking all of my time. Also, Yasmin has been sick and we have had to go to Savannah to see a Urologist and she is not too good. She has been diagnosed with VUR (vesicoureteral reflux). She will be having outpatient surgery soon and hopefully that will be the end of her infections. As soon as we know when surgery is scheduled, we will post it. XOXO to all.

Thanks to Smokey Bear, Laura, our Toombs Forestry Queens, and other local Forestry Queens I think we were doing a great job promoting Forestry this weekend!! We got started on Thursday, by walking downtown Vidalia in the Children's Parade.
