When did police staffing ever prevent crime? It is the stupidest concept around. The police react- and with little to no accountability for their actions. Robbed or burglarized? They will barely respond. The fire department, on the other hand, needs to be fully staffed to effectively fight fires. In recent history there have been several incidents in Newburgh that proved that. Now that taxes are through the roof you would think that there would be enough funds to at least staff the fire department adequately.
