A major indigent? Who was the major indigent you speak of?

The original intent of Illuminated is exactly as another poster said. The first few years, artists created lightbulbs (Illuminated/Edison) painted in their style, which were auctioned off at the end of the festival with funds going toward the next year. There were no insurance, mobile, health care, and other vendors of that ilk. It was a draw for artists, creatives and people with a sincere interest in preserving historical Newburgh. Now, it’s just a fest of egos & it’s mismanaged at best.

Shame.
